Wouldnt say its better than the devotion by any means, just different and fun. Januarys' damage buff has helped make it a ridiculous option to a more viable one (3 or 4 shot kill now, I'll have to check.) Aog sights aint bad for decent range killing and you can see whats going on at full pelt auto - the devotion becomes a little unclear to see down sights at full speed if I remember rightly?

Spitfires good for up close steamrollering and huge magazine sprayness..youre not going to survive all the time but a fun option!

Yeah, these were some serious downgrades in TF2. Things that I loved in TF1 that you just can't do in TF2 anymore.

This is what I probably miss the most. I used to use that exact phrase a lot, except in TF1 with the rodeo mechanic being possibly lethal to a titan (causing the pilots to have to react), and the Sidewinder being an actual Anti-Titan weapon and much stronger than the Primary Weapon version of it in TF2, I could actually make it be Mano a 2 Titano or even Mano a 3 Titano and come out victorious by using the rodeo, jump off, Sidewinder, jump back on, jump right off, Sidewinder, and so on. In TF1, titans were slower and stupider than pilots, AS THEY SHOULD BE. And if you even got close to jumping on a titan, it gave it to you. In TF2, they give the titans way too much benefit of the doubt. They give them way to much time to react to you and you practically have to land dead center on their head for it to give it to you. With the rodeo threat, the Sidewinder, and the correct Pilot/Titan reaction times, I really miss the Mano a 1, 2 or even 3 Titano experieces like I had in TF1.

Yes, the Spitfire with Leadwall was the deadliest gun in the whole TF1 universe. Just the sound of it sent chills up and down those metal titan spines. :) I mean, you could shred an entire fresh titan with just one clip. Awesome!!!

Spitfire was my baby in TF1 so I was so happy when it got buffed - think it was back in January's patch

I used the spitfire last night and found some forgotten appreciation. It has more kick than in TF1 especially with sustained fire. However, after watching the video (thanks Mecha!) I see that there seems to be less kick with the first few intial shots. Hmmmm. Seems like things are reversed from before. My biggest tip with that gun is you absolutely have to aim first. There is little room for error if you do not aim. With the devotion you can slowly correct as you are shooting. So, when I play next I will try to be much more deliberate with aiming first and taking single or two burst shots in succession. Hopefully this will diminish the wild jerkiness. The other thing I found really useful for closer quarters is that hip firing is really useful. You normally do not think of the spitfire as a gun that is good for hip fire, but it is really effective. The reticle is fairly small and the gun movement is quick enough that hip firing is definitely better than trying to aim down sights especially with the AOG. Tat tat tat. .... listen for the sound.

Good analysis, It is surprisingly good on hipfire, especially when I panic at the sight of 2 pilots running round the corner...

Yeah the hip fire is pretty awesome especially with groups of grunts/specters for easy clean up of a bounty drop zone. Also for me gun ready is a must for this gun

I use flatline because it seems the best at distance and at close range hip-firing. I use firestars and cloak. For anti-titan I prefer the magnetic grenade launcher. Lately I've been playing Northstar a lot just because it's so different from the others. I like going up in the air. I wish you could land on things like walls and edifices.

Good choices, I cant get good long distance shots with the flatline yet, need more practice!

I'm firetstarring it all the way at the mo, with r201 carbine being flavour of the month. Going onto northstar next when I gen 10 my ronin..

G2, Flatline, Softball, Northstar. But I think it all depends of the mode, CTF I will only use G2 for first life to snot some oncoming pilots, then switch to Flatline or SMG for capturing, Bounty, Att, other modes, LStar & Softball, with a dashing of EPG when times get tough. G2 overall is good but once your CQB you're done generally. Mastiff is good.
Like having a jam with the sniper rifles now and then, but I've always been useless with those. Loving the Northstar though considering I could never master the railgun in TF1.

Yeah g2 is awesome until up close, I never pair it with a pistol(which I should).

Man the snipers are harder this time round, I cant get on with dmr or double take, and my tf1 favourite, the kraber, feels almost the same but the bullets fall sooner and the game moves around you faster (if that makes sense) and I get killed way too much on it.

The snipers look easier on pc? Watching Benchy, Frothy etc, the mouse turn speed and accuracy seem to help?!

I alternate between the Alternator, R-97 and Flatline depending on the mode I am playing. Sometimes I will throw in the R201 as well...

now im trying to use the cold war, very effective in close range, if you see the enemy pilot before he does, and combined with gravity star, no escape from the blue missiles

and th alternator, but i find it very unnaccurate, even at close range

the R-101 is my favurite now, really looks like a titanfall weapons, easy to conrtol, accurate at close and long range,

Trying out the Flatline right now. While fumbling through the customization menu the game started and I was surprised to find I had inadvertently selected the flatline and so far so good.
