It looks like another "beta" is being released this week, and I may give it a try. Not sure about "how" it will play differently than a standard military shooter, but who knows? I am always looking for a new game to catch my attention. Or is this an attempt to go up against the GTA series?
looks mostly like a combined bf4 and CS aint interested, though the creators of bf wanted it to be Swat vs terrorists before the bf games as we know them came to be i think they delayed it until now course of interest in the Militia warfare was so high at the release of the first bf game might buy it at some point
I'm having a personal battle with this one. Firstly, let me point out that I have been a 'Battlefielder' from days of old. I played Battlefield on my old PC a fair bit, but really got into it when Vietnam came out. Hell, I bought a whole new PC just so that I could play Battlefield 2 which I clan battled in. I was in the closed beta for 2142 and loved that game. I even played the terrible Battlefield Heroes.... When I switched to console, Bad Company blew me away, and I still rate Bad Company 2 as one of my all time great games. Battlefield 3 has taken more money from me than any other game. I had to buy it thrice (kids destroying my discs) and renting servers for the Scottish Marauders clan that I run. Battlefield 4 killed my dreams. Completely. All the gameplay of old was destroyed with poor map design and pathetic grenade spam. I said I was going to do hardline for this reason. Don't know.... The beta starts on the 3rd, do I might try it just to see...
I had soooo much fun in the Closed Beta. I am not a huge BF fan and I don't think that Hardline will be a huge success but making the classical Cops and Robbers idea into a big MP game seems pretty sweet! It looks a bit rushed (It has only 9 maps) but I can't wait to play the Open Beta on the 3rd of February.
With you Bruvas..................Bad Company 2, (on the PC) was a great game! Even with my limited skills, I really enjoyed the game. It was less about individual score than the team winning. The maps were super too! And Mistergeorge, I will certainly give the BFHardline beta a try. Who knows............it just might be a fun game.
Even BF3 had a fair element of team play. I think BF4 gave to many options to infantry to take out vehicles. I was a top gun on 2 & 3, but on 4 there's a lock on you every second almost. Also, opening up the classes was a bad idea. A sniper with a carbine? It diluted the original class gameplay. Never mind the balls up when it was launched with laggy gameplay and shoddy weaponry...
Maybe thirds time's the charm!!!!!!!!! I had to uninstall, reinstall, then uninstall again. Seems that "Chrome" doesn't like a lot of things. Like my printer, BF Battle Log and a few other things. So I uninstalled Chrome. Re-installing beta now. Never, never, I mean never had this problem with Titanfall. Hopefully it works this time. If not......................nothing lost.
I started downloading the Beta this morning. Still downloading! I've only played BF 2 for the first 2 missions. When I bought my first used xbox 360 the disc was scratched so I could only play the first two missions. Enjoyed the humorous AI though! I've never played any BF game after that so im gonna give Hardline a try. Controls don't look too bad....
Just downloaded BF hardline this morning Bruvas, any tips you can give me would be awesome, it's a tad daunting, and everyone doesn't miss ha! Never played much BF online, always just played the campaigns....loved bf3
Don't mind this to much tbh. Ads as much as possible, aim for the head, burst fire. It's the battlefield way! prefer the class system to bf4, but the character models seem old fashioned.
Yeah, its got a CS:GO feel about the characters and the animation, and the colour of the maps...feels quite old school...can't put my finger on it...

Jeez. First BF multiplayer match ended with explosions out of a Micheal Bay movie. I couldn't do anything without exploding something. I calmly ledge grabbed through a window and it exploded into flames and I kept walking. Wtf? Every helicopter I got in ended with me getting 5 assists while the guy rammed everybody on the control points and ending with a fiery capture. I get off spawn and all I hear is 'GOD DAMN IT MAN DOWN!' behind me. The gun recoil...oh my god. The automatic fire mode should automatically be switched to single fire just so you can hit the broad side of a barn! Besides that, im having fun. My goal is to get a kill with every weapon once. I got sniper,shotgun, assault rifle, smg down. Now I got frag grenade, baseball bat, magnum and vehicle rams to go. I do best with the shotgun for some reason. Reminds me of Titanfall range. Awesome! Edit: I forgot to mention some stuff. First, I had a glitch on my assault rifle that stopped me ADS'ing, switching to my pistol, throwing a grenade or meleeing. I was just running around hipfiring lol Second: WHY DOES IT AUTOMATICALLY RECORD SO MANY GAMECLIPS EVERYTIME I RANK UP OR THROW A GRENADE?
Just won't work! Tried and tried. Had same problem with other beta. There are still a few more games coming out I want to try...... RS 6 Siege for one! Enjoy the beta guys!!!
Recoil has been an issue in battlefield for a bit now, hence ads and burst fire. I completely agree with the game clip recording. Completely ott....
Went to EA BattleLog............Finally...........It works! Very fast. Lots of quick action. Chopper riding is fun. Weapons do have a lot of recoil. Maps good size. Yet.....................does it look as good as it could? Even for me, got a few easy kills. Nice destructible environment. That is a good thing.
Single Fire has bad recoil if you spam the trigger too! Jeez, guess I've been spoiled by other FPS games basically having non-existent recoil. That's why I do best with that shotgun loadout. harder to miss lol! And yea gameclips.. level 2? GAMECLIP. Throw a grenade? GAMECLIP! Shoot a gun? GAMECLIP! Level 3? GAMECLIP! I always wondered why people recorded themselves ranking up... now I know!
