I have always been a lone player as there are not too many gamers in my circles :(:(:(. Also I play at lots of different weird times, like all night Friday night and every minute my wife is not looking. I have always felt guilty or inferior and disadvantaged playing alone. But maybe it is not such a bad thing thiugh? Sure I love it when there is a spontaneous sympatico where we meld and kick A. But that is so hot and miss. Any thoughts on what pros and cons and preferences are out there?

    I hear you!
I have been in enough "clans" to last me for a while. They either get too competitive, or internal friction cause a break up. They switch to games too often and leave many players alone.

It is tough to be a single in gaming, but every now and then you meet a fellow like minded gamer and it just works! All too rare.
I simply do not have the available time anymore to make myself a good member in a clan. Its why I am constantly searching for a game that kind of blends all these aspects.

Thanks. I sense that there are lots of us out there, but it is nice to hear it from someone who has been around. Being a new gamer, it is all unfamiliar territory for me. Ohhhhhh, I would have been soooo lost had I started when I was younger. But then again, the technology was not as friendly or stimulating either. However, there is far more to it than just those factors.

I have played with a few players from this site, and it was always great fun! Just not enough hours in the day to play as much as I would like!

For me, anymore, its not the game but who I am playing the game with. If you really think about it, just a few really good friends are all you need for some good fun! I never understood why so many clans wanted to get so big. The groups just got too large to really manage.

Some game types of Titanfall are better with friends such as LTS and hardpoint as communication helps. Attrition needs no help as it's an all out clusterf**k.

When it comes to games like battlefield however, I wouldn't play without a mate or two being on.

I think you probably summed it up nicely. This is the reason I played so much Attrition and moved away from BF and COD.

*****.......and every minute my wife is not looking*****

lol you and me both. When she walks by and sees me playing, you'd think I was looking at something suspicious or lame.
"Baby you just don't understand, it helps exercise my cognitive reflexes for my job (omg she just bought it....no.....she just laughed in the other room)"

I'm always happy playing the lone role since I'm busy and may need to 'walk' out any minute, so for that reason as well, I would be a weak companion or team mate....C'est la vie!

At any rate, Titanfall I've found has a robust ability to fill many niches; casual rouges (like myself) and/or hardcore teamers have a home. I also don't use mic because of all the 'whine and bologna' filling the air waves such as "kids" and they're new found artistry in profanity. Don't get me wrong, I'm no prude....but let's have a 'style' factor people.

Why you'll usually find me in Frontier Defense pursuing 3 stars in the maps (not that easy in pub, which makes for a good challenge)...Great team play without verbal communication or friends via the mini map. I stare at it with one eye constantly and analyze what the others are doing in order to fulfill my role, one falls and I shift. 3 stars are easy with high Gen's, but believe it or not, I love playing with gen1's....they get so excited (even with a 1 star win) and it's enjoyable to watch them run around too ;p "ok kids now let's spread out...you're doing great!" I will mention a 3 star win with three gen 1's (one was a level 12!)---now that's a fun challenge I look forward to ( I usually get 40+ titan kills lol)!

Long story short, playing lone is cool too

My wife and I come home from work today. She sits to chill a bit and then decides to make some supper. Here is my chance. I go to the basement to "see how the carpenter did today with the gyp rock". An hour later my reality is jolted by her presence by my side. I was just pointing my new found friend Wingman Blast Your Head off B3 at the little Sh*t who was snipping at my heals. Locked on from across from a high vantage point way across to the steps of the building across the street. One of those long distance sweet sweet shots they never see coming. A long chase had finally ended and I was going to be so victorious. in answer to her question (I thought you were coming down here to....) I divert my attention for just a second to say in my most self righteous voice: "really I was coming up just after this one round". I instantly turn back to finish my business only to see the dots connect on the three red streaking lines skimming across the screen from his gun to my head. I scowl at her. I mean I SCOWL a silent painful scowl. We are very close. She gets me. But how could she ever understand what just happened. Why did she not come down 3 seconds later????? The rest of the evening was spent together on the couch watching a depressing drama on the movie channel to pay penance and to convince her the scowl was only a grimace because it was hard to hear her speak. She still loves me.

Alone about 60% of the time, for many of the reasons listed previously.

I am fortunate that I have two other players in my house. We form a three man team and play together often. My sons enjoy TF.

I know you are an Attrition player so it's a little harder to see a team concept in that particular game, at least for me. One thing I marvel at is how a team in a game like CTF manages to come together and function as a team without any direct communication.

So even though I join as a lone player, many times I end up working with a team. I love that feeling at the end of an intense match where you just want to high five everyone.

I've found I have no choice but to be a lone wolf. I try to talk about a plan, only no one I'm matched up with cares. All of my friends have a real life or play other games. It's all about my game, high or low score, win or lose, how did I do? Did I have fun?

Yeah bit of a Lone Wolf myself.
I've done the Clans, Clanbattles etc over the years. But all my friends have " Grown Up' so to say. Also having kids doesn't help committing to a Clan either.

But when my wife gets at me about games I say "Well I could be one of those husbands that goes to the pub all night and has YOU pick me up late", She says "No dear it's alright keep playing your games". " Are you sure, I could easily go the pub at night",

    OK....
    Hello my name PAYLHORS8248,........>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(Hiiiiii PAYLHORS8248)
and I run the lonely path of a reluctant Nomad/Lone Wolf as well. (queue Kung Fu series flute music....)
It's not that I don't want company,...but as many have stated the logistics seem to get in the way.
I am no longer held to the shackles of wedded "bliss", so I pretty much do as I please.

I agree it's hard to find peers not so much of equal skill but more equal "personality". If you are obsessed with winning to the point you smolder at a few losses (now and then). I'm not the wingman for you. If you can appreciate a pretty aware sense of what needs to be done based on the current battlefield conditions,......I'm yur man. I'm best in a Titan and am always work'n on my pilot repertoire. I'm frequently torn regarding working with a partner as it always seems to me that one always gets sacrificed for a kill and if I run into a "spider hole" with two or three of my own I get out of there as fast as I can as one cluster missile and your part of a major coup for the opposing team.
Love playing with guys (and gals...) who just seem uncommonly,.....normal. If you are in a match and fighting a Titan and an Archer keeps coming out of nowhere,.....there is a good chance it's me. I'll hold the line from a distance and tenderize Titans for the win all day,....even at the cost of my personal score!!!
I mostly play Attrition because I kill everything with equal enthusiasm, but my attempts at CTF, LTS, HP, FD have always seemed to be me trying to do everything and no one watching MY 6!!!! or seeing what needs to be done versus what they want to do in the moment (frustrating...).
Hate trash talk,....if your good you don't need it
    Hate whiners,..... hurts my earholes
Hate kids (who act like kids),.....self explanatory
Hate elitist POS's, .......desire (obsession?) to "feel" important at the expense of others.

I have no problem with newbies,.....wasn't that long I WAS THERE! (I remember...)

Could use wayyyy more old school, regular-everyday, know you can count on-'em, happy to be in the moment enjoying the hell out of shooting the above in the face folks. (I guess,.....just say'n....you know whut I mean,....).

    BTW,....
To all who read my spewings,......
If you are of "like mind" please feel free to add, friend, whatever,.....
I wear my mike sporadically but I am always listening to a "hail to the HORS"
    or just a "HELP!!!!"
If I'm near and not up to my 'nads in Titans I'll start a commensurate ass pounding on said adversary!!!
    (Archer enema anyone?)

Best to all on the Frontier
    As always, got yur 6!!!!!
    D, OUT!!!

In Titanfall it isn't really a bad thing to lone wolf. Like on Attrition or Pilot Skirmish. If you were to play the frontier defense mode or last titan standing. That is when you need to work with your team.

I still manage to win even know I'm a loner , but people get shity when you use a sp or something and they have all there buddy's talking to each other , I only use sp when someone on the other team is using it . I never feel inferior , I feel that I just have to play that much better to win , I'm sure people still hack in the game , some guys are very suss and seem to win 10 games in a row . The game has alot to do with the people on your team weather or not you win or loose. Chances are if you have a shit team you will loose. And often I can tell from the team matching weather we will win or loose. Its actually very predictable at times and becomes boring so I just find another server or game with other people , because clans are almost unstoppable at times . And randoms against clans don't usually do that well.

I always play alone but I am also so aware how easy it is too dominate if I played with a group, the biggest whupp'ns I have had on TF was when guys were teamed up. I would like that, but as has been mentioned when you have a family it gets difficult to be on for a team. As I have always said, pick your opposition when you are alone and ALWAYS play to stay alive.
