Over 8,000 flag caps!!!... I'd certainly like to sit back with a bag of chips and watch this guy play. Perfect visual teaching aid for a struggling (yes, I'm talking about me) CTF player.
Unfortunately, I usually just keep playing, punishing my self by keeping my rank chip on, going down,down, down, ...level after level. My mind becomes numb, and I just keep playing and playing. My vision becomes blurry, my back aches, , my fingers hurt and are stiiff, and then finally there are only three people per team. The Rank chip even gives up on me and casually informs me that there are NOT ENOUGH PLAYER (why are you still playing you idiot...the avator says under his breath with a sh-t eating smile). But no, I figure maybe if I switched guns. So we do it all over again. Maybe if I look at my challenges and acheivements, I will do better. Nope. That does not help either. Well, it is a good time to look at other player clips. So I wander around the Xbone apps and streams looking for inspiration. Usually, it is just depression to follow. Why am I not better!!!! Finally I cave and go to bed. The next day, fresh with some sleep...I still suck. But at least I am playing better. Sometimes brilliantly even. Why I cannot just learn from my good Bruv. Look down, do pilates and turn it off????
Don't despair a-train, it gets us all!! I've had to turn my rank chip off, furthest I got was platinum, gold now, it was consuming my daily thoughts - "gotta get up at 5am before work, can't lose a battlemark" "gotta stay up tonight, lost to many battlemarks cos of server connections...". While the wife is talking to me.." Ooh...I wonder if I use carbine and suppressor more.." Not to mention actually being a bit annoyed for a while of I'd dropped a couple of marks!! Hats of to the diamond players, but they must put some serious hours in, and I've noticed some play with friends who are also good players night after night - I think that definitely helps ranking. It's a hard grind otherwise, no doubt. I love love love ctf, and too am a flag carrier, albeit 15 deaths a match, love the rush! But again, teamwork can make the DreamWorks with ctf. Since turning off ranking, I've been thoroughly enjoying it more, even krabering around satisfyingly... I feel your pain dude, its the life of a TF addict
