Yes, and here are 2 exact quotes I pulled from the video that I think are critical.

This first one was referring to how the competitive players had brought up a lot of the issues with CTF a long time ago:
"Nine months after release, none of these issues have even been addressed yet. Can you really blame us for already looking to a future uncomfirmed sequel?"

    And this was their conclusion:
"In conclusion, Titanfall must have rewired our brains, because we love it to the point where it influences the way we play other games. It defines us as gamers. We wish Respawn and the franchise nothing but the greatest of successes. To that end, we hope that our criticism will be taken into account and ultimately in some small part, contribute to a more complete and satisfying Titanfall experience in the future. The direction Respawn has taken the series is understandable, as it was clearly intended to create a welcoming and less overwhelming environment for the average player. Unfortunately, many changes stemming from this decision have resulted in Titanfall 2 becoming a more shallow and limited experience for everyone. Our goal here today wasn't to lobby for Titanfall to be some kind of an MLG Pro exclusive mess, but to highlight our perceived flaws of Titanfall 2 in order to show Respawn that such a drastic overhaul of game mechanics wasn't really necessary. We sorely miss a lot about the original Titanfall and, as we outlined, a lot about that game suits the Titanfall identity much better and shouldn't have been so readily discarded. We hope there's more room for Titanfall in Titanfall 3."

TF1 & TF2 are awesome, personally I find them affiliated hugely to each other & appropriate to the fantasy it gives us, a slick jump from one to the other IMO. I just hope for another and I'll be happy as beans! ;)

I understand that you feel that way Rott, but for me personally, I'm not interested in anything TF2-like. There are 3 critical areas for me.

The titans (speed, strength, regenerating shields, custom loadouts) - without the titans being as in TF1, I do not feel that I can express myself. I don't need some developer deciding what combination of things to stick together to create a supposed personality of some hero titan. No thank you. Just let me pick the parts and I will supply the personality myself.

The pilot/titan balance - I felt equally strong as a pilot or titan in TF1. As a pilot, I was not affraid to jump right in the middle of 3 veteran titans and I would usually take down 2 and somtimes all 3 of them. In TF2, the titans are given way too much reaction time and benefit of the doubt and it is suicide to even confront 1 autotitan.

Situational awareness - In TF1, I could always tell when I was being attacked, from what direction and most times even by what weapon. Also, the pilot health/gun damage relationship allowed me to take a little bit of damage, duck around a corner lick my wounds and then decided to engage or move on. In TF2, I don't even know I am being attacked and BOOM I'm dead.

Those 3 areas need to be the way they were in TF1 or no thank you, I am not interested. Those were all severe downgrades and there was absolutely no reason for it.

    i would buy a titanfall 1 ps4 remastered right now . that a copy of a free titanfall 2 .
play the game with just titanfall 2 titans as skins. only.
    same with the pilots.
i would even tolerate TF 2 maps with the TF1 system.
beef up the AI and player count 12 v 12

This would be great if they would do this, because I would like as many people as possible who have played TF2, but never have played TF1 to have exposure to it, so that when discussions are had about what should be in TF3, they have had the experience of both. Derrame is a perfect example. Derrame had only ever played TF2 and pretty much loved it. Derrame's main concerns with TF2 have always just been wanting Frontier Defense added (which it finally was) and adding more maps for titan modes (which are still sorely lacking). However, Derrame started playing TF1 for the first time maybe about 3 months ago or so. Now, on the official forums, Derrame is an even fiercer advocate than I am that TF3 needs to be based on TF1. Derrame is carrying that torch harder than anyone and I am so grateful for it. This is why I would love to see all others who may even really like TF2 have a chance to experience TF1, because I believe many of them would also see what a far superior game it was, but until they do then all they know is TF2. Oh, Derrame is awesome at TF1 by the way. After only playing 3 months, he is one of the best in the world at hardpoint and better than many grisled veterans at attrition as well.

Yes, I have always felt the direction TF2 should have gone is the exact opposite of what it did. It should have been faster titans and stronger titans and wallrunning titans on maps perhaps twice as large as TF1 maps, but then also double the player count to 12 per team, but at the same time limit the max number of titans on the field per team at one time to 6. So, the titans, even though faster, would have twice as much ground to cover, so if you keep the max at 6, you shouldn't run into titans any more than you did in TF1. And, if the maps are twice as large, but you double the number of pilots, you should see pilots about the same as you did in TF1 as well. I would also add multiple creative ways for pilots to get around the larger maps faster when not in titans (stronger jet packs, battle cycles, titans throwing pilots, etc.).

I wrote a lot of feedback and analysis and the devs don't seem to care and 99% of players are happy with tf2
i'll put tit this way: REspawn should pretend that tf2 was a "spin-off" or "side project"
and then tf3 is the direct continuation of tf1, same mechanics, functions, visuals, titan and pilot gameplay, maybe some few minor details from tf2 that are fun, like grapple hook , or weapons

    simple

i don't think it is that , they don't care. it is probable because of the amount of problems and gripes they had to endure , along with putting up with bs from EA .

that and the so called fanboys that think everything is perfect.
and guess what these fanboys all have an agenda , if it's not a you tube channel or some sort of social media or even working for there forums they are incline to always say good thing even if it does not make any sense. like i said only time will tell. and they can't even defend them now as look how many players have drop off.
but they know best. they all get there moneys worth. they will eat shit if it was told to them it was chocolate. that is the impression that they give. and when they cant defend the bullshit any more , they blame the gamer's that gave the game critic .

they tried to bullshit when there were backlash with the alpha test. and they tried to bullshit and justify the launch date. then they keep repeating free dlc, then they said that later on they would give gamer's the road map. lol
little too late for that it was all BS.

my question is to all that defended TF2 where re they now hmmm. most don't give any feed back what's so ever that i have seen to improve the game , correct me if i am wrong. the most common factor that i see is that they play the game for others to watch them play. and how others are being negative. how those that even if they say something bad they are the reason the game is not doing good. lol

even the hardcore fans when you read there comments all over the net. it is almost that they are trying so hard to convince them selves.
even known youtube sites or channels are trying so hard to keep up with content. and at time don't even sound convincing that they love the game.

but hay i would probable be looked at as being a negative Nancy right lol.
guess what all the critic from the beginning has official rear it's head . reason i say only time will tell .

I'm still here almost every single day and play TF2 every single chance I get which hasn't been a lot lately considering I've recently gotten a dog, gotten engaged and learned that I'm going to be a father. I constantly gave my feedback and still do in accordance to what I think is wrong with the game and what they could improve.

Not to mention the Titanfall community just got together for a livestream weekend that raised over $9k for the victims of Las Vegas and the people displaced in Puerto Rico and there is another charity stream planned for the anniversary weekend to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

This game has had the same life-span as the first game and the third game will have the same type of life-span no matter what they do because a game that has Titans (mechs) in it is going to be a niche game. Most people don't like mech games. Sales numbers and population mean nothing to me in a game, all that matters is if I've had fun with the game and both TF1 and TF2 have been the most fun MP games I've ever played. IMO, they're different games and I love them both.

I wouldn't even have posted but refer to the >bolded< section in your quote. :)

I am pretty much right there with you Trini. I wanted to address your comments separately, because I didn't want to mix them in with a reply to Ik0n and some beautiful changes going on in his life. He and I have disagreed strongly, but he has more than proven to me that he is probably one of the most hardcore players/fans of both Titanfall games and I have enormous respect for him and how he has handled our relationship. We pretty much agreed to disagree at one point and have not really stepped on each other's toes since I don't believe. You are a good man Ik0n and I am very happy for you and wish you nothing but the best.

    Anyway, back to Trini's comments.
That is probably the part that rang most true to me Trini. I feel vindicated now, but it was very frustrating for the last year trying to make cases (and getting accused of being negative) that have now proved out to be true.

-when you pointed out the minimal release content (you were negative because "all this free dlc was coming")
-when you pointed out that adding a cosmetic store meant they were probably going to focus on cosmetics they could sell instead of actual game content (you were negative because "all this free dlc was coming")
-when you pointed out that they were only releasing 1 retread map about every 2 months (you were negative because "all this free dlc was coming")

So, TF2's 1-year anniversary is in about 1 week and for titan modes, there will be 16 maps (10 small, choke-pointed maps, 6 TF1 retreads). Not all of those are available in Frontier Defense and you can get stuck playing the same map multiple times in a row.

TF1 launched with 15 larger, much more well engineered and designed maps
...on TF1's 1-year anniversary, those who had not paid for it, got 9 more large, well designed and engineered maps for free
...you could play all 24 large maps in Frontier defense and select the exact map you wanted to play

...so when is the TF2 "free DLC" coming exactly?

Congratulations ik0n88x! TF1 & 2 are my favorites of all time, as well. I will admit that the first beta test weekend for TF2 really discouraged me. The pace of it or something... I just couldn't do anything right. By the end of the second beta weekend I was loving it and played until they pulled the plug. Of course I would welcome more dlc & new maps, just like I would welcome more meatballs with my macaroni! ;)

remember guys this is not just for this forums but other venues. the massive hola hoop to defend from the beginning during and before the alpha and during. many of it was BS , the simple fact that fans have to push to promote the game almost more that EA to help the game community is SAD . it is beautiful thing that fans make the effort more power to them. but in the end the BS that company's like EA do .
even in the beginning watching videos of Vince , how they were before and when the second game came out was very different.

others may lie it or not , but to see the state of the game how it is where i know how much better it could have been . so close ,
EA did alot of shady crap and won't admit to it.
