Can anyone give their opinion on which is the best controller option for PC users? I've seen several people say they use the Xbox controller, but I don't want to give up the mouse so I was thinking about getting something like the Razer Orbweaver or Tartarus. Maybe even a used Nostromos. Does anyone think those options are good, or will the Xbox controller still be a superior choice?

Also, I'm thinking about getting this ergonomic mouse for gaming:

Will this mouse make things hard for me or is it not that big of a deal?

If you want a game pad, look into the Razer Sabertooth. I've had one for a while and it's better for me than the standard 360 controller.

For mice, I use a Cyborg RAT 7 and love it. About the best gaming mouse I've had.

Standard 360 controller will do fine if that's what you want. When they get the Xbox One controller drivers up and running that might be better, but there's no wired Xbox One controller so I'm not jumping on it.

Still you should play with a mouse and keyboard on PC. You can do ok with a controller, but you will never, ever be as good as you could be on a mouse. Gaming mice are, however, overpriced and often not as reliable as you'd like. I recommend something simple, say a Razer Deathadder, or a Logitech MX518. I've had a 518 for four years when I used to have to buy a new mouse about every six months. It outlived the laptop it came with and is still working perfectly. Slightly harder to find than it used to be, but the logitech G series is basically the same thing.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, never, ever go wireless for a mouse. There are some that are both wired and wireless. I guess that's OK if also use it as a media PC or something, but you should always be wired gaming.

    I appreciate the responses guys.

The current gaming controller figuration I'm ganna try out:

Razer Tartarus + Razer Naga Epic

I'm hoping that the directional thumb pad on the Tartarus can easily be used for directional movement. As for the Naga, I know it's primarily for MMO but I plan to use it for other things as well. Plus it's wired/wireless and I think that's pretty cool for other non-gaming things I need to do.

I'm kind of fixed on trying this out, but if anyone could share their thoughts on these purchases specifically for TF I would appreciate it

A friend of mine has a Naga and is very happy with it, although it quit on him after about a year and a half, he's buying another. I've never bothered with a Tartarus-type one hand keyboard. I've always thought it was a pretty decent idea, but for the games I play I really can't justify how it's any better than a normal keyboard. Gaming keyboards are far more of a racket than gaming mice. The most boring, normal keyboard will work perfectly well. That said I hope it works out well, I can't imagine it'll go badly, although I certainly don't know what you'll use all those buttons for on Titanfall!

I've been using a Logitech G5 mouse for about 7 or 8 years now. Never felt the urge to update it for anything else ;)

You should do a mini-review on your Razer setup Stryder when you get it.

Well I'm not a hardcore gamer or anything, the setup is just optimized for my budget and non-gaming needs. But if you guys want a review I'll be sure to do so once the game comes out

    @SecurityRake

Yeah I definitely won't need all those keys lol. The way I'm envisioning this as more productive than using an Xbox controller is that I'll my thumb on the directional pad on the right, and I'll have my 4 other fingers on keys read to execute instantly. This seems a little more efficient than using a controller where you would only have access to 3 fingers on your left hand (thumb, index, and middle) and would have to move them around the controller to execute a certain action

Been using a Razer Naga Hex for around 3 months now. Love the mouse, and probably best mouse I've ever purchased, only complaint I have with it is that I wish it had a Matt finish!!!!! :p

For me, my xbox controller is a superior option because of the aim assist in the PC version of the game. If I was used to the k/m i would most certainty use it! I recommend the razer naga for gaming.

I've never played, or even heard of, an FPS where using a controller outperforms a keyboard + mouse combo.

+1 for a Deathadder; that's what I use. It's 3 years old and in perfect condition (besides being dirty). I live by the motto of K.I.S.S.

I used to play on consoles exclusively (budget reasons), but built my own gaming rig last year and have been migrating to the PC master race since.

In saying that, I'm still used to using the 360 controller for FPS games. It may not be the "best" for pros, but it nets me a better score all around than using keyboard and mouse.

Personally, I'll be using the Dualshock 4. It's probably the most ergonomic thing I've ever held onto in my life.

If you have trouble adapting to mouse and keyboard, the best thing I can say is this: Play a real oldschool-style PC shooter for a while. You'll never go back to a controller for shooters again. I can heartily recommend Quake Live (which is basically Quake 2 Arena but easier to find games), or Unreal Tournament 2004 (somehow still has servers going, and has one of best demos to ever be released, so download away). Those style of games absolutely force you to be looking everywhere at once (which is the weakness of the controller), and it will make you better at Titanfall when it comes out, I guarantee it.

Furthermore, knowing that those games were around at the same time, the popularity of Halo 1 multiplayer is a sad and depressing joke.

I say try a Razer Sabertooth Xbox 360 controller. Let your left hand do all of your moving, and bind the things you want to your mouse with the right hand. I've tried it and could honestly see that working out really well.

I'd like to note that the Razer Sabertooth has 4 buttons on the back of the controller, and 2 others nestled at the top near the bumpers that can be 100% remapped to ANY function on the controller. ABXY, Left Stick Click, Right Stick Click, RT, LT, RB, LB, Back and Start. The controller itself is $80, but worth every penny for what it offers.

Basically, it's a much cheaper alternative to a Scuf gaming controller without any decline in build quality. It can have up to 2 profiles at a time, and you can remap buttons on the fly. You can turn off your rumble, increase your stick sensitivity, and disable the LEDs behind the AXBY buttons. Also the AXBY buttons aren't membrane, they are mechanical switches that feel and perform great. It's honestly the bees knees of 360 controllers, and I HIGHLY recommend it for any 360 or PC games you'd like to play. It's all I use for Gears of War and CoD, and I can only imagine you benefiting greatly in Titanfall with all the possible button remaps it offers.

The OP is wanting to move using a gamepad but shoot using a mouse... I think that's more of a stroke of genius if anything, as this game is all about movement. Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

Yeah, that's something I've been meaning to try. And it's the same reason I've been on the fence about getting an Orbweaver, Nostromo or even Tartarus.
