America is not the center of the gaming world. You may not be old enough to remember the early Mechwarrior games. Mechwarrior 1, 2, 3, Crescent Hawks Inception, all sold very well for the time they came out. The series went downhill when Microsoft bought the ip. Mechwarrior online is going strong. Even Mechwarrior 4 has a larger player base than tf2.
I realize that and I can only go by what I've experienced and I'm American. I know that mech games do a lot better outside of America though, never said it was the center of the gaming world.
Sorry if I was too brash in my answer. What I can not understand is that EA of all companies only looks at US sales. Their top money maker is FIFA. Here in Germany we have a rather large fan base for Mechwarrior style games.
I hear you, I played Mechwarrior from the beginning and loved it. It is that memory that brought me to Titanfall in the first place. The reason it not as strong is that they are putting more emphasis on the Pilot vs Pilot modes; the resources should have been put on making the Titan experience the centre (Canadian spelling) piece of the game.
They really need a Titan vs Titan mode similar to pilot vs pilot where you only respawn in Titans. LTS is OK, but for newer players if you die early you can't respawn. I would like a full game just playing as a Titan once in a while.
agreed, am in for that. a complete titan battle , as one dies they can respawn in as a titan. rather than the one life per battle.
agreed , same here . the great thing about titanfall and the direction they took it was the titans were an extention of the pilot with movement of a human but not too gundam style and a tank with arms but a mech suit of armor with fluid movement with that mech feel .
agreed with this , as myself have played titanfall for the mech style gameplay with the pilot integration mix into the action. that movement battling other mech's with human players / pilots is a good concept . even some would have welcomed Armored core weight style loadouts , but titanfall 1 had a good balance just needed more weapons to add to the mix.
Yeah, I wasted so so so much of my life on Mechwarrior 2 and 3...they were in all time top 5, brilliantly made games...
I'll tell you what Reedy, if it was up to me, you win the award for the absolute best suggestion I have ever seen in these forums. Brilliant! The game is called Titanfall and this would definitely be a step towards making the titans more of the center piece of the game. Also, there are 2 reasons why I think this is absolutely brilliant: 1) Lots of people, including me, hate round based games, because if you die early, then you have to be a spectator and that's no fun. That is why I never played LTS. I would actually play this mode you are suggesting, because you could be right back in the fight and just keep duking it out until one team gets 50 titan kills or something. AWESOME!!! 2) This would be the one place where you knew you could go to immediately and consistently, without any interruption, work on your titan fighting skills or try new strategies with your titan. And if you die, who cares, you're right back in a titan. This would be extremely beneficial to new players, because even if you die 10 times in a row, you can just get up, dust yourself off and be right back in there again. EXCELLENT JOB REEDY!!!
Sorry about that. I removed that. That was an accident. Sometimes I just type things to amuse myself, but I never post them. I had typed that earlier, but didn't submit it. When I was replying to DARK's post, I didn't realize it was still there above my reply to DARK. Like I said, I didn't mean to post that. It was just for my own amusement.
When I first started playing back in early December i was somewhat forced to play a lot of LTS and take my lumps just to get "seat time" in the different titans and learn there different nuances, but really hated going down first and not able to help the team at all for the rest of the round. Don't get me wrong i enjoy pilot vs pilot for some variety just need to give some love to the Titans too
