Titanfall 2 Single-Player Campaign is Roughly 8 Hours Long Now that we've all seen a bit of footage from the single player campaign in Titanfall 2, the next logical question would be how long the Titanfall 2 story actually is? Steve Fukuda, Game Director at Respawn Entertainment, recently confirmed to Playstation Lifestyle that the single player campaign can be expected to take around 8 to 10 hours at length. Steve stated that it should take most people around 8 to 10 hours to finish, depending on their skill level and what difficulty they're playing on. If memory serves me right, that puts the campaign at longer than the typical Call of Duty campaign which makes me excited. Doesn't seem like too long or too short, a great sweet spot. What do you guys think about the length of the campaign?
Depends if there's a map or waypoints. I've a bad sense of direction in games. Could take me 28hrs+.....
I'll be beating it on every single difficulty so it's gonna take me a lot longer than that I'm sure...
Nice! I'm hoping there's some sort of unlockable emblem or cosmetic for beating it on higher difficulties.
Have you ever played CoD2 on Veteran? These are the same guys (pretty much) that made that game... it WILL be intense on the higher difficulties.. I know that for sure.
as for a first time game campaign am ok with the length , but saying a game has 8 hours does not mean that the game is really that long as cut scene are to me should not be counted , like some games in the past like metal gear had way too much cut scene , am hoping for the future that games take on a series type story since they like to charge for season pass they could do this add a continuous story plot it would be like missions they could also integrate the outcome via a monthly online multiplayer game competition that can change the event of a story.
Sounds highly intricate, wouldn't be simpler to just extra parts of the story in DLC ? I would assume in the DLC we will get new maps so what would it be to add those maps in some way to the single player campaign. Kinda like an epilogue..
yes correct, you have the right mind set on what am saying . my main thought was as a full game launch to have a complete story and then an addition later on with a series story mode . the concept is out there in games already but no solid definition from devs and publishers. example games like the walking dead , resident evil revelation , mortal combat , and that tv series / game defiance .even what the game The Division is doing on there site with mission logs the concept is broad and needs refining but it's a concept that could do well in the times we are in now with DLC , the same as adding new maps . example the game overwatch you know on youtube and in game how they have short story's but not a full campaign , they could do the same with some short story's and then we play a mission or 2 and so on and so on. the story would get you in a certain mind set and then you play a map with ai set in that story or cut scene . similar to what titan fall 1 did they did not have a campaign but they integrated multiplayer with short cut scene, to have you get into the mind set that you are playing out a story and depending on the out come of that match reflect how the story went . this is a concept that mortal combat have with there faction gaming
Okay now I understand where you are going with this! That would be nice! I feel it would ultimately depend on the response that fans have to the single player campaign. Definitely we will get new maps period, but I feel that in order for Respawn to put in the effort to boost single player, there has to be an insane demand for MORE! Which will be hard because it will compete against the multiplayer. Who knows though. A good step in the right direction will be higher than expected sales, that way Respawn knows that put they out a good product and people love it.
I think 8 hours +- is short, a single player campaign should be at least 15 hours. But it's great that there is a ingle player campaign. I was a very good idea.
agreed, as Titan fall had AI / bots in the multiplayer, playing a multiplayer game felt more dynamic a bit of a mix . hope there are more game modes with AI .
As long as the game keeps you on the right paths but still grants you the freedom to do stuff then i think this is a good numbers of hours for this game
